I have everything a guy could want—a new single burning up the charts, more money than a simple country boy could spend, and a woman I’m planning to marry.
Until she doesn’t show up for my proposal.
The life I thought was so perfect, isn’t.
The guy who thought he had everything, doesn’t.
I’ve got my heart on lockdown, but life sends me straight into the path of a mouthy bartender who puts me in my place.
Now the only place I want to put her is under me.
I thought I was done with love, but maybe I’m just getting started.
In Nashville, country stars are a dime a dozen.
I swore I’d never get caught up with one, but Boone Thrasher made a liar out of me.
I said I’d never put my heart on the line, but he didn’t ask before he stole it.
Now we’re facing my worst fears, and we’ll see if this country boy is tough enough to see it through.
Girls like me don’t get happily ever afters… but maybe he’ll prove that wrong too.

This was not at all how I expected this book to finish, I knew there would be a cliffhanger but I sure as sh!t didn’t expect what we got. I really enjoy Meghan’s writing style, I have loved her Beneath series and this book was just as enjoyable.
Boone Thrasher is the bad boy of country music and a total hottie at that, Boone was nothing like I expected him to be. I don’t really know what I expected but it definitely wasn’t what we got. I’m still not 100% sure weather I love or hate Boone, there were so many times during this book I yo-yoed from one emotion to the next where he was concerned. After reading about what Amber has done to him I felt myself softening toward him but then he would be a jerk and I could have throttled him, then there were times he swooped in to help Ripley and I seen a totally different side to the hot, alpha, bad boy.
Ripley was definitely my favourite character in this story, she hasn’t always had things easy and after what happened with her family and a celebrity she has a rule she stands by and thats to never date a celebrity, too bad Boone Thrasher rolls over that rule with a tank. Ripley has every reason to be leery of celebrities and my heart broke for all the things she has been through. She was a little rough round the edges at times but that just made me like her all the more.
These two characters had amazing chemistry that you could feel throughout the pages of this story. I loved how their personalities played off each other and the fact that Ripley didn’t put up with Boone’s sh!t.
This book definitely threw me through a loop and kept me on my toes the whole way through, the characters were totally unpredictable in a good way. It was a fast paced romance which shouldn’t work but definitely does. I loved it from the moment I started it until the very end. I cant wait for the conclusion to Boone and Ripley’s story.
Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She’s also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she’s ever had. She loves hearing from her readers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
