From New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott comes the second sizzling stand-alone novel in the Dive Bar series!

Alex Parks is funny, fascinating, and pretty much everything he’s been looking for in a woman—except that she lives across the country. Soon they’re emailing up a storm and telling each other their deepest, darkest secrets…except the one that really matters.
When Alex pays Joe a surprise visit, however, they both discover that when it comes to love, it’s always better with a twist.

This is the second book in the Dive Bar series, I really enjoyed Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series so I knew these would be books I would be interested in.
The story didn’t go how I had anticipated, I thought we would have seen the build up of Joe and Alex’s online dating but that wasn’t the case. After the younger Collin’s loses interest in his dating profile Joe only goes on meaning to delete it but gets sucked into an online friendship with Alex. He doesn’t think she will be interested in him since the brothers are nothing alike so keeps his true identity a secret.
Alex flies to CDL to surprise Eric for his birthday she finds out she has been duped by Eric’s brother publicly and very much humiliatingly. She ends up getting sick and having to stay ion CDL for a lot longer than she had planned. After Joe finds out she is ill he decides to nurse her back to health and the two characters call a truce.
Alex had some issues she struggled with after she and her childhood best friend were bullied when they were younger. She’s not a people person and struggles at times to be around them. She also suffers from panic attacks and slight acrophobia.
I have to say I understood Alex’s ire for Joe in the beginning but there were times I thought she was just being unnecessarily bitchy to him. I found her hard to connect to at times if I’m being honest.
The sexual tension between these two characters was electric at times, you could feel the chemistry but these characters were stubborn especially Alex and didn’t want to give in to it.
There was so much more to the storyline than this though and at times I literally felt like my heart ached for the characters involved. There were definitely some amazing twists in this story and I couldn’t put it down. Overall I enjoyed the build up and explosion of feels these characters experienced and am excited to see whats to come next for the Dive family!
