It’s a call that changes my life–and my little girl’s. Years ago, playing for the NBA was the dream, but the Seattle Stallions suck. Worse than that, my old teammate is now the star center–not to mention my number one rival. There has to be a catch, some sort of agenda. Before I was injured, I was the best. Now? There’s no way they want me.

But when I see the roster and salaries, it all comes together. It’s a chance to get on the court again and change our lives. And I just can’t wait for the opportunity to finally take him down. What I never counted on is Courtney Cohen being the game changer.

I inherited the Bad News Bears of the NBA. When I discovered the star center, my ex fiancé, cheating on me, all I want is to jump ship before the whole thing sinks. But with revenge on my mind, I exact a plan. Take down the dirty player and save my father’s dream.

Suddenly twelve minutes is too little time, and a season is not long enough.

“You still afraid of me?” Courtney asks. I push her hair out of her face. “No.” “I’m afraid of you.” “No beer muscles tonight?” I ask, glancing at her empty glasses. She shakes her head. I scoot in closer to her. “Tell me what you’re afraid of.” “Liking you too much,” she says then takes a drink. I turn her in her seat so she’s facing me. “You’re gonna like me even more when I’m inside you.” Her body grows taut. “You can’t say stuff like that. It makes me uncomfortable.” “Well, now I’m going to have to do it more often to get you used to it; make you crave it, beg for it.”

4.5 Stars
I came across MJ Fields a while back and have been devouring her books ever since. I happened across the sign up for this book and couldn’t wait ti get my hands on it. It definitely delivered more than I even expected it to.
Courtney’s dad left her a failing basketball team when he passed away, due the snake that is Brock weaselling his way in and preying on her when she was vulnerable. Luckily she wises up and kicks his butt to the kerb. No one wants to give Courtney a chance when it comes to the team, they all want and expect her to fail and I hated that!!! Courtney was strong, determined and no-nonesence which I really admired about her.
Trae hasn’t been in the game in years, Courtney’s dad signed him before he passed and it has totally thrown a spanner in the works. Trae doesn’t want anything serious when it comes to the ladies! In the beginning I was super p!ssed at him but the more I got to know him the more I ended up liking him.He took up for Courtney when she needed him to and held her up when she was struggling to stand on her own.
This book definitely gave me a case of the feels, that’s the thing with MJ Fields she normally has me crying at least once during a book but there were definitely more tears in this book. My heart hurt for Courtney and also for Trae when it came to Callie.
The only reason this book wasn’t given 5 stars is I would have loved to find out what happened with Callie more. We didn’t see very much of her and would have loved to find out what happened when she meets Courtney, other than that I loved this book and I’m looking forward to more from the team.
