5 Stars

This is the first book I have read by this author but it will definitely not be the last! I read the synopsis for this story and something in it just jumped out to me and I couldn’t wait to read it. I’m so glad I did now!!

Halo and Thomas have been together since they were teenagers, Thomas has been there through thick and thin with Halo when her parents passed away. They had endured so much and their struggles finally broke them apart! That’s where Ryder comes in!

I have to say there were times I hated Thomas, and I do mean HATED him! Then there were other times I adored him. He struggled with so many demons.

Halo has also endured so much in her 20 odd years of life, she lost her parents, the love of her life left her pregnant and alone and then she had to give birth by herself also! Ryder came at a time where she was vulnerable and lost but what she did for that man was beautiful, she didn’t want him to be alone so she gave him a home and helped him get back on his feet. She was a great character!

Ryder was so loveable, he won me over nearly instantly and while I guessed that he secret it didn’t take anything away from this amazing story!

This book left me a complete mess at times, I couldn’t stop the heaving sobs and the ugly cry sessions I endured while reading it. It ripped my heart out and stomped it into the dust then built it straight back up again, it was heart wrenchingly beautiful and a total must read!!
